The Institute of Municipal Assessors (IMA) develops and maintains continuing education programs for its members and other professionals in the property assessment and related field. The IMA courses are designed to meet the varied needs of its members, providing them with the special study, knowledge and skills required for their profession.

The IMA maintains a professional designations program (e.g. A.I.M.A. and M.I.M.A.) to reinforce the competence and standing of the assessment profession.

Note: Use of the Associate (A.I.M.A.) and Accredited  (M.I.M.A.) designations is protected under the Institute of Municipal Assessors Act.
